Studied with: Trevor Tomkins; (Royal Academy of Music) Mal Garrett (Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) and Jim Chapin, one of America’s top percussion educationalists. Darron developed his musicianship skills playing in local orchestra’s and brass bands, performing at the Royal Albert Hall. As a professional session musician; working aboard cruise ships such as the QE2, travelling to various places such as New York, Caribbean Islands and Africa. Playing with the 'Memphis Belle Big Band' tribute to Glen Miller and shows in Jersey, C.I. working in shows.
Darron is currently teaching at Leicester Grammar School teaching Percussion, Music theory, as well as composition. Writing music for the Leicester Grammar School orchestras, string quartets and choir. Also, appointed Composer-in-Residence Ratby Co-operative Brass Band,
Recently collaborating with Simon Mold, orchestrating his Carol Cantata to be performed later this year 2024 with the 'Yeovil Phoenix Singers'. Also, a performance of a piece called Rhapsodic Echoes for the trombone which was performed by the The Bardi Symphony Orchestra on 6th November 2023 at Leicester Grammar School.
